The Paul Douglas Bike Trail Daisy Photo Page

These photos are from the west side of the Paul Douglas Bike Trail, along Hunting/Freeman on 6/3/2010

The Paul Douglas Bike Trail makes a pretty nice 7 mile loop around Paul Douglas Forest Preserve and Highland Woods Golf Course. The loop around the forest preserve was completed in early 2009. These photos are from the west side of the trail a few years later after the trail had been completed.  The photo above shows the trail as you come up the hill just before Lakeside Blvd.

My goal for this particular photo pages was simply to get some photos of this nice field of daisies along the trail. I just missed getting these photos BEFORE they mowed along side the trail.

I had noticed the daisies on a previous ride (I live close to this trail and have ridden it many times) and thought the photos would be nice since there were so many flowers this year. The photo above shows some Daisy Close ups.

This is a large daisy patch and the bike trail as you look south.

This is as you head south towards the Grassy Ridge Meadow entrance and parking area. There were not quite as many daisies along this part of the trail as there were just north of Lakeside Blvd but there were still a lot of daisies at this particular time.

Here are the daisies on the side of the bike trail after I turned around and was heading north. I rode this part of the trail a few times for this batch of photos.

I was just in the mood to photograph daisies along the bike trail...

OK, back on the trail and heading back. That's it for my artsy-phartsy bike trail flower photographer moment! :-) (BTW: Phartsy is an abbreviation for photographically artsy :-) ) OK, this page was mostly for the photography and for fun.
